    1. Thank you, Beverly! And that’s exactly it — we just have to ask! Sometimes that’s easier said than done, but I certainly never regret asking!😊

  1. I love this! We so often forget about the Holy Spirit. I think it can be intimidating as believers, and somewhat mysterious. I went to a Vineyard church when I was in college, years ago, in Southern California. It may have been the original Vineyard. Exciting place. People dancing in the aisles, uninhibited. I learned a lot about the Holy spirit after spending years at a Fouresquare church in Oregon. What a powerful gift we have with God’s spirit living in us!

    1. That’s awesome that you went to a Vineyard for awhile Meghan! And yes, it’s incredible to think of the power living inside us, which we do often seem to forget. :)

  2. Great reminders! It is sure a new concept for a lot of people, as most people I grew up with (myself included) had no clue about the active workings of the Holy Spirit. If only there were more churches that embraced these teachings!

    1. Yes, I agree! I think most people have just never been taught/never considered the power of the Holy Spirit within us! Hopefully the more we “live out loud,” the more people will see the difference and want to learn more. :)

  3. You expressed this beautifully. I am somewhere in between the passive and active faith. But spent numerous years completely passive. God has given me courage to be more active lately and it has been a blessing.

    1. That’s great, Amy! It’s defintely a journey with ebbs and flows, don’t you think? But it never fails to be a blessing to be a part of what God is doing in the lives of those around us.💖

  4. My “to read” stack is growing! Thanks for the suggestion.

I’m with you on living our faith actively. It takes intentional living for sure. Active faith is hard, but so worth it, and we have the Holy Spirit to help us. Just have to take that step of faith.

    1. We do definitely have to be intentional about loving our faith actively; it’s all too easy to slip into our passive ways, isn’t it?
And great – I’m always happy to recommend good books, haha! :)

  5. Very inspiring post, Jessie! It is an amazing thing that the God of the universe invites us to participate in His eternal kingdom work, but He does! Praying for a Holy Spirit sensitive heart, that I may follow His promptings daily. My husband sometimes says this, “Jesus doesn’t want you to go to church. Jesus wants your whole life.” May the Holy Spirit use all of us!

    1. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Melissa! Yes, people who just go to church and “call it good” are missing out on such a big piece of the puzzle! Life is so much fuller and richer when you invite the Spirit to lead. :)
